The Brighton Visual and Performing Arts Department [VPA] encompasses the district's music, art, and theater programs. Students across our district are engaged in a balanced VPA program at all levels of study.
Our courses and opportunities integrate performance, analysis, movement, observation, problem-solving, development of critical thinking skills, and creativity to support the development of each student's commitment to life-long learning and exploration. Multiple opportunities and levels of participation are available to our students in our district's diverse and inclusive program. From entry-level experiences at our elementary schools in general music and visual art to specialized courses in music, art, and theater at our high school, there is something for everyone!
For those students who want to challenge themselves further, we also offer a vast program of co-curricular activities involving all areas of the arts at the secondary level.
Visual and performing arts offerings continue year-round for our community and district. In June and July, Brighton Summer Arts Camps provide creative workshop experiences for students in grades 3-12.
In April 2024, the Brighton Central School District was renamed a Best Community for Music Education 2024 by the NAMM Foundation. Brighton has been fortunate to be awarded the designation "Outstanding Support of Music Education and Enriching Lives of Children & Advancing Student Achievement" for fourteen consecutive years.
Please enjoy exploring our web pages, where we celebrate our students' accomplishments and provide information about our concert and production schedules. We can't wait for you to experience all our program offers to our students and the Brighton community!
