The vision of the Brighton Central School District Mental Health team is to provide culturally competent, ethical, holistic, and wellness focused services that promote children's social-emotional development and academic success. The Mental Health Team partners with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all students.  

As a result, BCSD students will be able to: 

1. Define who they are, who they want to be, and self-advocate for their wants and needs. 

2. Monitor the mental health of themselves and others to respond appropriately and access community resources if needed. 

3. Make informed and healthy decisions by focusing on self-evaluations, goal setting, and sustainability. 

4. Will develop and maintain healthy relationships including the ability to resolve conflicts with others and oneself. 

5. Demonstrate the ability to empathize with the perspectives and identities of others and interact positively with diversity as a backdrop to support equity and inclusion. 

6. Define their career goals based on alignment with values, interests, and skills.
