Hab Lab Hosts Halloween-Themed Coding Lesson

Posted Date: 11/18/25 (04:01 PM)

Most first grade classes participated in the "Bee Bots Go Trick or Treating" activity at the Council Rock Primary School Hab Lab the week of Halloween. Prior to the event, students created Halloween costumes for the Bee Bots. During the activity, they learned how the Bee Bot operates and that coding is a unique way to communicate with computers.

In small groups, students then took the Bee Bots “trick or treating." They drew cards featuring images of candy from a bag and coded their costumed Bee Bots to navigate to the matching candy on the mat. At the end of the lesson, students reflected on the Habits of Mind, discussing how they used skills like Persisting, Striving for Accuracy, and Managing Impulsivity throughout the activity.
