Annual Notice: Districtwide Safety Plan for 2025-26

Please note that the information below is an annual requirement. The Districtwide Safety Plan is a general plan filed each year by the district that outlines the district’s response to emergencies.

Pursuant to NYSED Commissioner’s Regulation 155.17 (e) (3), the Brighton Central School District is making the districtwide safety plan available for public comment prior to its adoption. A public hearing will be held on Wednesday, August 20 at 9 a.m. as part of the Board of Education – Goal Setting meeting.

The public hearing will provide for the participation of school personnel, parents, students, and any other interested party who wish to comment on the districtwide plan. The plan is expected to be formally adopted by the Board of Education at its meeting on Tuesday, September 9 at 7 p.m.

Individuals may submit comments directly to the District Clerk, Kim Lanzafame, 2035 Monroe Ave., Rochester, NY 14618, or Kim_Lanzafame@bcsd.org no later than Monday, September 8, 2025 at 3 p.m.

About Brighton

All members of the school community have the responsibility to maintain a safe and orderly school environment conducive to learning and respectful to all people and property. The Brighton Code of Conduct partners with the District and Building Safety Health and Wellness Committees to foster student academic and behavioral success.

Each year, the District convenes a large group of parents, community members, staff members, parents, the leadership team, and the Board of Education to develop our strategic plan for the year. Otherwise known as the Blueprint, this planning process is the backbone of every committee and District initiative for the year.
